Paul says:

“And I’m sure that God, who began a good work within you…” He’s the One who started the work in you. “That He’ll continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus comes back again.”

Philippians 1:6

Terms to Know:

Justification

We are  Who God made us to be . Our sins are forgiven as we stand before God

Sanctification

Becoming who we already are. It’s the process of becoming who God has already declared us to be in Christ

“You were taught with regard to your former way of life…” “Look, in regards to that old way of, you put off your old self because it’s being corrupted by its deceitful desires.,And be made new in the attitude of your minds, and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”

Ephesians 4:22.

STEPS TO TAKE THIS NEW PATH TODAY

1. To think progress, not perfection

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

2. Think future, not past

“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on .

Philippians 3:13 and 14

3. Think in terms of connection rather than production

. He says, “I am the vine.” He’s talking to His disciples. “And you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit.

John 15:5

The Gospel is:

You can’t get your life together, but He can.

The Gospel is:

“I give up trying to fix it, so I surrender. I surrender it to You, Jesus.”

4. Think training, not trying

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25

The Good News of the Gospel: It’s never too late for a turnaround
