Intro

  1. God knows my thoughts!  
    • Corinthians 2:16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he many instruct Him.  But we have the mind of Christ.”
  2. God can change my way of thinking 
    • “The mind of sinful man is death. But the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 3:6
  3. 3. I am responsible for my thoughts
    • “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”. 2 Corinthians 10:5
    • ”Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”  Phil 4:8

FINDING YOUR LANE WITH LOVING GOD WITH ALL YOUR MIND

  1. GET SOME PROMISE IN YOUR HEAD
    • Whatever is true…
    • “I will quietly keep my mind upon Your promises.”  Ps. 119:95
    • “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful.”  Joshua 1:8
  2. Focus on God’s worth
    •   Whatever is noble…
    • “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”  Phil. 3:8
  3. Get in step with God’s plan
    •   Whatever is right…
    •   “But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.”  Ps. 33:11 (NIV)
  4. Look for God’s abundance
    •   Whatever is lovely…
    •   “God richly gives us everything to enjoy.”  1 Tim. 6:17 (NCV)
  5. Speak what I see of God in others.
    •   Whatever is admirable…
    •   “Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others.”  Phil. 4:8 (TLB) 
  6. Motivate you with God’s greatness
    • if anything is excellent…
    • “I will praise You every day; I will praise You forever and ever.  The Lord is great and worthy of our praise; no one can understand how great He is.  Parents will tell their children what You have done.  They will retell Your mighty acts, wonderful majesty and glory.  And I will think about Your miracles.  They will tell about the amazing things You do, and I will tell how great You are.”  Ps. 145:2-6
  7. Fixate on what God’s doing
    •   If anything is praiseworthy…
    •   “… lift your eyes to see what God is doing all around the world; then you will say, ‘Truly, the Lord’s great power goes far beyond our borders!”  Mal. 1:5
    • “He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!” Isa. 26:3
    • “However, as it is written:  ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God. Has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Cor. 2:9
