3 Truths of Holiness

Truth: God is Holy

• Luke 1:35, an angel Says to Mary “So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
• Luke 4:34 demon-possessed man. He cries out to Jesus. “I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

Truth: God Commands Us To Be Holy

• 1 Peter 1:15: “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.”
• Definition of Holy : “To be separate from evil and set apart for God”

” If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the
enemies of God.”

Heb 10:26-27

Truth: God helps us become holy.

• “You will remain the same until the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the pain of change”
• Hebrews 10:10: “We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
• Ephesians 1:4 Long ago, even before He made the world, God loves us and chose us in Christ to be holy.”
